Tesla has officially signed a ¥4 billion (C$764/US$557 million) deal to build its first grid-scale battery energy storage station in China, leveraging its Megapack technology.
On May 11, a sodium-ion battery energy-storage station was put into operation in Nanning, south China''s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as an initial phase of an energy-storage project. After completion, the project''s overall capacity will reach a level of 100 MWh, which can meet the power demand of some 35,000 households every year.
This marks the completion and operation of the largest grid-forming energy storage station in China. This energy storage station is one of the first batch of projects supporting the 100 GW large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases nationwide.
