A new chapter opens for the energy sector in Mali with the acquisition of the French company’s Malian operations, Total Energies Mali, by Coly Energy Mali, in partnership with Benin Petro SA. A delegation from the group was received this Thursday by the Prime Minister, Major General Abdoulaye Maïga, to formalise this transition.
Also present in Benin and Ivory Coast, Coly Energy plans to consolidate its presence in the region by focusing on strategic partnerships and management adapted to local realities, an official of the company said. The future of this transition, however, remains dependent on the group’s ability to meet economic and social expectations in Mali.
The small size and dispersed locations of villages in Mali for a long time made off-grid decentralized mechanical and electric energy supply the only viable option. A multifunctional platform consists of a 10-hp diesel engine that, as desired, can power a mill, a generator, a pump or other devices mounted on the same rail.
An approach that strengthens confidence and opens the way to a promising dynamic for the Malian energy sector. Also present in Benin and Ivory Coast, Coly Energy plans to consolidate its presence in the region by focusing on strategic partnerships and management adapted to local realities, an official of the company said.
